First aid training by Air Ambulance

Members and friends of Reading Rotary club attended some wonderful first aid training that was excellently run by Brian from Thames Valley Air Ambulance. They learnt how to correctly carry out CPR and use a defibrillator. These are very valuable skills that may one day help to save someone's life.

Of particular note is the Defib finder – find the defibrillators nearest you., and as mentioned a video of our Lucas device (automatic chest compressor) WHAT IS THE LUCAS DEVICE AND HOW DOES IT HELP PATIENTS? - Thames Valley Air Ambulance (tvairambulance.org.uk) along with some FAQ’s. The Youtube video’s are also shared at the bottom of this email – they are a bit of fun, but do deliver a really strong message.

You may remember completing a couple of confidence level questions when you signed up and then again in your on the day feedback form. I’m delighted to say that the confidence levels reported increased in both instances.

A certificate of attendance is available on request – so if you would like one please do let us know along with preference for email or postal copy.
